So after getting my band "Sweet Potato Pie" together, I started building the skills of my two main characters Emma Brown and Sunny Brown (Sisters) in guitar and piano, they practiced with the other two band members who were both drummers (after seeing who was better, i kicked the worse drummer out of the band).
My pianist, Emma mastered her skill while also gaining fame in her day job as a musician on the rock career track. Here she is playing at a party for her sister's birthday.
Emma refined her skill and gained fame by playing in the subway for tips and also on community lots with her portable keyboard. Here she is playing for tips outside the local diner.
While my guitarist, Sunny, was gaining fame and climbing the ladder in the film industry as a director. Here she is shooting some b-unit footage for her boss.
She would also spend her mornings before work learning new songs.
The drummer, a random sim named Bijou Sugar, is a fledging wardrobe stylist and mediocre as a drummer too. I don't control her, so she does whatever she wants.
Now they just needed a gig!
They kept their opportunities up to date and kept that from backing up so when the call came in, they were available! They were booked to play at the very seedy harbor bar called Waylon's Haunt from noon - 4pm (i mean WHO hangs at a bar from noon - 4pm) - a pretty lousy gig, but newbie bands can't be choosy.
Being total professionals, Emma and Sunny checked out the bar the night before the gig to see the crowd (not much of one) and see how long it took to get from their house in the burbs to the other side of town near the docks. They had a couple of drinks, chatted up the bar tender and danced a bit.
On the day of the gig, Sunny and Emma arrived early and even took unpaid time off of their very successful jobs to make sure they didn't miss the time slot, however, in true form, bijou showed up a little late. Thank goodness they still started the gig within the allotted time.
First they had to tune up the instruments.
Then they got going slowly... About half way through the performance, Bijou really had to pee, but thank goodness she stuck with it and they were able to keep going.
Emma spins around and plays the piano backwards...
Sunny rocks out a solo... sweet move!
Sunny and Emma invited all their friends to a party at the club to make sure they got a good sized audience..
The band gained some popularity points and some celebrity points and most of all they were really happy about finally performing in public. Sunny collected their pay from the bar owner, about 630.00, but it's not about the money!
It was nice to see them finally get a gig after all their hard work, now they just have to work on their LOOK. Sweet Potato Pie is an official band!
It's such a fabulous life for a sim!
